Sorry I missed an update yesterday. Let me recap.
Connor made it through the night Fri to Sat without getting sick, but upon moving to a chair he threw up right away Sat morning. Thankfully a Dr was in the room and could see his distress and violence of it and suggested a repeat CT. It got done late in the day, and didn't get to talk to the Drs until this morning.
The &_$#-@# pseudocyst is bigger!! Apparently it's the lower one that the external drain was attached to, and it's almost doubled in size. Infectious Disease dr speculation is that it could be like a honeycomb with several pockets. Regardless the first thing out of her mouth was, the external drain may have to go back in. I just about jumped down her throat. If we have to, but it my opinion it's now a last resort. We have been dealing with this for three months, we are not waiting another month for a slow release with continued nausea, and what happens after that, how do we know it won't happen again? To have almost doubled in 10 days, I have serious concerns about it actually working. Who's to say it won't happen again, or again after that? His counts are high, on paper he's as healthy as he has been for a while. Call surgery and give us some more options.
At that point the oncologist walked in and I jumped down his throat too. He understands our frustration, he'll call the specialists and then he beat a hasty retreat.
No idea if we'll see anyone today, or what. They are switching his antibiotics for the C Diff (because I've already paid for one at home in the hopes he'll be discharged), they've said he has to stay on the other IV antibiotics for now because they assume the now larger collection is still infected, so adding more time Connor is hooked to a pole at home (up to about 18 hrs now...)
Still pushing for discharge tomorrow. Unless they can tell me they're doing surgery tomorrow, we'd like to go home and will come back as needed.
Hoping for more info, but doubtful on a Sunday.

  1. Oh dear … Yish … I don’t like hoping for surgery, but I understand your feelings towards it. I’m kinda glad you lost your s*#t a little, as it shows you won’t just keep following their lead, it’s time they start explaining their reasoning …. So you can understand and be reassured. Poor Connor - I am so sorry for him and just pray he gets feeling better and then gets better. Deep breath - keep chugging! 💕💕K/C/M/L
