March 3- Connor's progress - Updated

Connor's 42 hour MTX is 0.75 (has to be under 1) so he hit the 2nd benchmark too! And a big jump down from yesterday's number. His creatinine is creeping up to .79, but still under 1 as well which is great!
They'll take 48 hour labs at 1:45pm today and hopefully we'll have results sooner than 7pm. If the number is under 0.4, he should be able to go home on Thursday afternoon (he still needs 72 hours of hydration!) but they may continue Leucovorin orally to help combat the mouth sores. We'll see what the doctor says after the 48 hour labs.

Update: His 48 hour MTX is 1.2. They ran it twice to be sure because it's not supposed to go up! Sigh! However, his creatinine is still under 1, at .88 so they aren't too concerned. They'll do labs again at 72 hours, which is about 1:45pm tomorrow, and now he has to be under 0.1. if he is, then he can still go home tomorrow. Fingers crossed šŸ¤ž!

  1. Sorry that Connor has been sick - I hear that chemo will do that - just glad the meds go him sleep thru the worst.
Great news on his numbers though. Hopefully he will be home tomorrow.
5 months down and 5 to go for the what is the toughest of treatments. Connor is a star.!
The Valerie Centre has truly been a godsend for you. Close by and staffed by the experts in their field along with such caring nurses. We are truly grateful for care that Connor and family have been receiving.

  2. Wow! Great newsy update - thank you. All very good news - as you have said, the warm, spring sun and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, gives you strength to forge forward with positive energy!! Also a yay for Kirk ... how come not you, as well, Erin? I fully believe nothing heals like a beautiful sleep - a wonderful way for Connor to spend the day, when needed. I hope Leucovorin helps with the mouth sores - nothing pleasant about those things! Thank you for all the news about the Valerie Centre and how we can help. And also about the price of the treatment - puts our petty complaints into perspective. Big hug ... šŸ«‚ ... Wow, there was actually an emoji for that?! (Hard to see it though.) Keep chugging! Lots of Love, K/C/M/LšŸ’•

  3. Fingers and toes are crossed! It sounds like the doctors have also been learning a lot about his body's responses so they can anticipate what is needed. The Valerie Center is truly impressive, as is Connor and his family. Thank you for the updates ❤
